The Pallet Truck Chock
Midland are pleased to announce the introduction of this new chock into our already extensive range of pump trucks and accessories
Having tried various styles and designs over the years we feel that this model offers the best of all designs, in that it is lightweight, hard wearing, functional, easy to use and is very competitively priced.
The pallet truck chock is engineered to hold a pump truck in place on a moving truck or trailer.
Key features
The chock is designed to ensure the pallet truck does not move and cause damage to the inside of vehicles or other road users.
It assists the driver, in that the pump truck does not have to be turned onto its side to prevent it rolling over.
It is easier for a driver to use the pallet truck chock than the old method of dropping the main wheels into a tire which often resulted in back injuries.
The chock will prevent other goods in transit being damaged by an unsecured pallet trucks.
The chock can also be used to hold a truck in position on an inclined surface thus preventing injury to the operator or work colleagues
The chock is durable enough to give long service in any harsh environment
These units are suited to any surface including none slip floors
Chocks are being sold to trucking and logistics companies. The truck driver simply pulls the pump truck into the stop and it is securely parked in seconds rather than struggling to lay it on its side or lift the wheels into an old tire.
The weight of the truck itself holds it in position in the chock. Pallet Truck chocks [also known as a Pallet Truck Stop] are now considered to be a mandatory piece of safety equipment for all vehicles that carry pump trucks and at just 3.5kg in weight it is something all drivers should carry with them.
There is no cheaper way to solve this potentially hazardous Health and Safety issue and the use of this device is easier and quicker than tying a truck down
Our full range of pump trucks, manual stackers, lift tables, scissor lift table, pallet lifters, order pickers, aerial work platforms and forklift truck fork extensions can be viewed on our online shop

The use of scissor lift tables
Scissor lift tables
Scissor lift tables, also called scissor lifts, platform lifts and lift table trucks have a simple use - to raise or lower a product on a platform. They make overhead tasks safer and more effective as well as helping to improve proper location of materials which helps avoid work related injuries. These tables are composed of three basic components, a platform, scissor legs and a lower frame assembly.
It allows operators to lift large amounts of weight easily and safely, reducing the risk of workplace injury. Platform lifts help reduce incidents of musculoskeletal disorders by positioning work and objects at a suitable height for operators. This simple concept is safe and reliable, which is why it is widely used in a number of different industries, including:
1. Wood working
2. Metal working
3. Paper, printing and publishing
4. Warehousing and distribution
5. Light assembly
6. Heavy machinery and transportation
Lift Tables are designed and built for a wide variety of uses and different industrial processes, including:
1. Work positioning in assembly operations and manufacturing
2. Load positioning (when integrated into conveyor systems)
3. Materials position in machine feeding applications
4. Pallet loading and unloading (usually for cartons of finished or unfinished goods)
Platform lifts are available with either a manual hydraulic pump action or an electric motor. In addition there are multiple stage scissor lifts (such as double or triple). Hydraulic lift tables use one or more hydraulic cylinders to move the platform up and down. Double stack two sets of scissor legs on top of each other while triple stack three sets of scissor legs on top of each other. It is the design of these multiple stage scissor lifts, which will raise the platform to larger heights. Therefore, this is an ideal choice for robotic integration and applications where operators may have to work underneath the product.
When purchasing a lift table there are a number of factors to take into consideration:
1. What quantity of loads do you want the lift table to handle?
2. Will you be using the table indoors or outdoors (or both)?
3. What weight will you need to lift up to?
4. What is the elevation, which the weight has to raise up to?
5 Is a double scissor lift table required
6. What environment will the machine be used in?
The benefits of using lift tables are numerous - they will make your workplace safer, more efficient and effective and reduce the risk of workplace injury, all excellent reasons to seriously consider investing in one of these units.
Assisting employers who believe in implementing workplace safety to avoid injury, Midland Pallet Trucks are experts in workplace safety solutions and provide a wide variety of products and applications like manual pallet lifters and pallet trucks to solve workplace safety needs.

Weighing Scale pallet Trucks available from Midland Pallet Trucks
This type of weighing scale is basically a pallet truck {also known as a pump truck}, which has an inbuilt measuring system {load Cell} that displays weight readings of the objects placed on it.
The weighing scale pallet truck has a rugid design and is based on a standard pallet truck but with an added weighing facility.
The goods are placed on the wooden pallet and this pallet is then lifted up to 250mm off the ground by the forks, of the pump truck. An LCD display unit records the combined weight of pallet and the goods. The weight of pallet, which is already known, is deducted from this combined weight to give the nett weight of the goods. This all can be done as the goods are moved from one place to the other in the factory or warehouse and is a great feature that saves time. The result is reduction in labour overheads and the resultant increase in the productivity of the firm.
The pallet truck scale can also have a printer facility attached which is battery driven in addition to the display read out.
Pallet truck scales are designed to weigh and measure heavy loads safely without compromising the safety of the workers and the accuracy of the weighing operation. This is a specialized machine that provides material handling solutions to large warehouses and manufacturing facilities where check weights of consignments is important. You can see pump trucks and pallet truck scales at our online pallet truck shop

Manual Stackers and Pallet Lifters
Manual Stackers
When moving a fully loaded pallet an operator requires specialist pallet lifting equipment because of the heavy weights involved. Some pallets can be between 30-50kg when they are empty, and can be several tonnes when fully loaded. Needless to say it is impossible to move such loads by hand without a pallet lifter.
Thus, those who have to move the pallets need to look at various options with regard to proper lift equipment. In this they will need to choose between a few standard pieces of equipment.
A smaller size and more manoeuvrable pump truck is the first option. It is the simplest type of pallet lift equipment that you will come across. These pallet trucks are generally small and they allow users to manoeuvre in narrow spaces where movement is limited. Another consideration for your application will be the lift height required. If you are storing an item far off of the ground, on pallet racking or shelving, then a pallet truck will not work, but it will help you to move your load along smooth flat surfaces.
The second option in pallet lift equipment is the manual pallet stacker. There are several variations when it comes to self-propelled manual stackers. Stackers can lift your load to greater heights as compared to pallet trucks. Some of the semi-electric manual stackers are generally powered by batteries and some models even have built-in chargers to ensure that the stacker works optimally at all times.
There are straddle leg manual stackers, The reason for the straddle leg is that the manual stacker straddles the pallet and the legs of the stacker are outside the pallet while the forks are situated under the pallet to enable the lift. These are used on closed pallets where it is not possible to put the stacker legs under the pallet.
There are many different manual stackers available from Midland Pallet Trucks that raise the pallet to a height of 3 meters and can lift up to 1000 kg. There are fully manual models and also semi-electric manual stackers that can raise the load by using a battery powered electric motor.
The last or third option for pallet lift equipment is the forklift with capabilities to lift greater weights and heights than possible with the pallet stacker or pallet jack. Forklifts have the ability to reach high places but they are very expensive pieces of equipment and they require skilled staff that require training and a licence to operate them
The manual stacker truck is a cheaper option that requires less maintenance and can be operated by unskilled staff. Pallet trucks and pallet stackers can be just as manoeuvrable as a forklift truck.
Whichever type of pallet lift equipment that you use, you need to first address safety issues, the load size, the height to lift the load, the weight, and the space you have to manoeuvre in. Pallet stackers in particular require having weight capacity plates on them, which in turn must always be visible to whoever is operating the pallet lift equipment.
When buying any piece of equipment, especially a pallet lift, you need to ensure that the features fit in with your industrial requirements, space, and storage method. Having the right tool for the job is important and having the right pallet-moving machine can literally mean the difference between life and death for the worker that has to use it.

Pump Trucks
Pump Trucks
A Pallet Truck, often known as a pump truck, and also known as a pallet jack is an every day piece of equipment used in all businesses such as distribution, manufacturing companies and various operations involved in logistics and moving freight on pallets. These pieces of equipment are necessary to move around freight that needs either loading or unloading from trucks.
The Pump Truck comes in many different types, sizes and capacities, although the most common is the manual pallet truck, which is powered simply by the user pumping a large handle that operates a hydraulic pump which in turn raises the load. These pump trucks have two forks which can be raised by the hydraulic pump. The load can be lowered again with a lever on the handle. The pallet truck offers enough clearance from the ground just to transport pallets of freight in a warehouse environment and should not be used for transporting the pallets at a raised height. The pump truck then lowers the pallet back down onto the floor
The standard pump truck would lower to around 70mm to fit under a pallet, which could then be raised to around 0.2metres. Special low profile pump trucks are also available from our online pallet truck shop and these will go down to as low as 35mm.
The use of these pump trucks is quite simple and no special training is required to use the equipment. In fact any unskilled warehouse staff member can use the pump truck in a warehouse environment and move pallets around. The cargo could be standard pallets or in fact any freight or other bulk items that are placed on the pallets. Warehouses generally despatch or receive freight and the use of these pump trucks reduces the need for skilled staff such as fork lift truck drivers.
These pump trucks are often used on the back of vehicles to assist in their loading and unloading. These are often used in conjunction with a forklift truck or manual stacker. The manual stacker does the same job as a forklift truck other than it is designed for lower weights and is generally electrically powered or the operator uses the hydraulic pump to raise and lower the forks.
Pump trucks are often seen in retail outlets where staff have to transport goods on a pallet from the rear stock room to the display area in the shop. Pump trucks allow the operator to transport the load long distances in the shop and are often used at night for replenishing stock on shelves
Depending on the weight of each pallet, a pump truck can carry two pallets at once. There are various capacity pump trucks available at our online pallet truck shop with capacities up to 3500kg
When making a decision which pump truck to purchase the user must first consider the pallets and loads to be moved. Pump trucks are available with various fork widths and lengths. The pump on each pump truck is available in different capacities. All these are available and can be bought at our online pallet truck shop with weight capacities ranging from 500kg to 3500kg.
The other consideration should be pallet size as pump trucks are available in many different widths and length. To assist in the selection process why no take a look at our online pallet truck shop as there are many of the top quality trucks on display including Eoslift trucks.
